What each step involves.

  1. 01

    Get In Touch

Getting in touch is the first simple step to start a conversation about your research needs. You don't need a fully developed brief — just tell us what you're trying to understand or achieve, and we'll work with you to clarify your needs and design the right approach.

    Reach us by email at info@globalresearch.nz, call +64 3 355 4562 or +64 27 2433 083, or use our contact form.

  2. 02

    Project Outline

We arrange an online or in-person meeting to explore your objectives and agree on the preferred project direction. During this discussion we clarify:

    • Your desired outcomes and decision-making needs
    • Key audiences and stakeholders
    • The data and evidence required to inform the project
    • Reporting format and communication expectations
    • Milestones, timing, and critical deadlines
    • Specific considerations — cultural requirements, data security, hard-to-reach populations, accessibility, budget

This conversation ensures we fully understand your objectives, context, and constraints — the foundation for a tailored, fit-for-purpose proposal.

  3. 03

    Proposal & Confirmation

We then prepare a clear, tailored proposal that sets out:

    • Project context, needs, and objectives
    • Recommended research methodology
    • Data collection, management, storage, security, and processing protocols
    • Analytical framework and approach
    • Reporting structure, outputs, and presentation options
    • Key milestones and delivery timeline
    • Project fees

The proposal becomes the project's delivery framework. Once approved, we appoint a dedicated Project Lead who serves as your primary contact and oversees project quality and communication from start to finish.

  4. 04

    Research & Delivery

Building on the approved proposal, we develop a detailed delivery plan that sets out exactly how each part of the project will be carried out. While every project is different, delivery typically includes:

    Project Design

    • Clear research stages and sequencing
    • Development of survey instruments
    • Preparation of interview and discussion guides
    • Data transfer, management, and security arrangements
    • Statistical and qualitative analysis methods
    • Cultural, demographic, and accessibility requirements

    Data Collection

    • Quantitative and/or qualitative methods, delivered with best-in-class software
    • Monitoring participation and response rates
    • Managing stakeholder communications
    • Secure data handling and storage, with consent obtained from every participant
    • Privacy and ethical requirements met under our SOC 2 protocols

    Data Processing

    • Verification and validation checks
    • Cleaning and formatting datasets
    • Removal of duplicates or invalid responses
    • Secure logging and version control
    • Structured datasets — and coding frameworks for consultation projects

    Analysis

    • Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis
    • Cross-tabulation and subgroup analysis, with weighting where appropriate
    • Systematic coding of open-ended comments and thematic frameworks
    • Identification of trends, drivers, and areas of significance
    • Charts, tables, and visual summaries — all internally reviewed
  5. 05

    Reporting & Close-Out

We present findings in clear, structured formats aligned with your audiences' and decision-making needs. Reporting options may include:

    • Draft and interim reporting, if required
    • Final written reports — technical and/or public-facing
    • Executive summaries
    • Visual dashboards or infographics
    • Presentation of findings to boards, committees, or stakeholder groups

We step you through the findings, answer questions, and ensure you're confident applying the insights. To close out, we confirm you're satisfied with the deliverables, agree data retention or destruction, and capture lessons learned.

Global Research invests significant time at the outset to design projects carefully and deliberately. We find well-considered planning results in more efficient delivery, better outcomes, and fewer surprises along the way.
