HomeAboutOur Story

About Global Research. Market and social research experts — independent, evidence-led, plainly written.

For nearly 25 years, Global Research has delivered applied quantitative and qualitative research for central and local government agencies, businesses, and NGOs across Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond.

Who we are

Global Research was founded in 2002 in Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand. We've grown into a team of 15 researchers who partner with clients to turn information into insight that informs better public and commercial decisions.

Our work spans the full research lifecycle — from problem-framing and instrument design through fieldwork, analysis and reporting. We're trusted by central government agencies, councils across Australasia, universities, and private clients with long-term customer experience programmes.

We hold SOC 2 Type 1 certification, an internationally recognised standard for data security, privacy, and trust — and we're proud members of the Research Association of New Zealand.

What we do

For each project we assemble the most appropriate team, based on the needs of the work and the skills and experience of our people.

Our team

Global Research is a team of university-qualified, skilled, and experienced market and social researchers.

We're grounded in a diversity of social science disciplines, which keeps our research rigorous and our perspective global. Travel, curiosity, and life outside research are common ground — that diversity enhances our work.

Our experience

A broad range of adaptable services.

In 2003–2005, we completed landmark research for the Department of Conservation, surveying visitor perceptions of accessible and remote tracks. We collected, analysed, and reported on 4,500 survey responses across three seasons — delivering insights that supported better recreation planning. Check out the project here.

This early work is representative of the diverse projects we continue to deliver for government, commercial, and NGO clients across Australasia and the world. While much of our commercial work is confidential, here are three long-term partnerships we're proud to highlight:

Patterson Hospitality Group

Guest satisfaction for five businesses since 2013: Commodore Hotel, Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel, Hotel Montreal, Touchdown Car Rentals; Flit Airport Parking.

Médecins Sans Frontières

Brand Awareness survey, annually since 2016.

EA Networks

Customer Satisfaction Surveys in 2019, 2021 and 2023.
